PANCHALOGA VIGRAHAS |
|
The Utsava Moorthi in panchalgam is carved by us to the temples. This process of panchaloga utsava Moorthis carving consists of the mold making in wax, and covered with several layers of specially selected and mixed sand and mud. Leaving it for some days, then it will be put under the oven of fire to take out the wax. The melted five metals is to be poured into the mud covering. This will be given sufficient time for getting cool. After some days, the mud is to be broken off and the solid panchaloga vigraha is taken out. Then the final carving and decoration is done manually as per the shilpa shastras. This is the traditional way of making and carving the panchaloga vigrhas.
The panchalogam or pancha dhatu consists of: brass, copper, bronze, silver and gold. |
